description
Salicylic acid (SA) is a phenolic compound[1] commonly
found in plants where it plays a role of plant growth regulator and also as a
signal molecule mediating in plant defense against pathogens.[2] In
food industry, it is used as a preservative[3] and
also as a component of food-grade resins, polymers, and adhesives.[4] SA
is also used as a peeling agent in chemical peeling of skin.[5]
